<strong>Effectiveness of green tea, bay leaf, and lime peel extracts as toothpastes active agents for extrinsic stain removal on teeth, artificial teeth, and denture base</strong>

Introduction: Tea consumption causes extrinsic stain formation on teeth and denture surfaces, affecting personal appearance. Herbal plants extract such as green tea, bay leaf, lime peel are potentially active agents for removal. This study aimed to analyse the effectiveness of extracts toothpaste removal teeth, artificial base. Methods: Twenty-five post-extracted human permanent central incisors, 25 heat polymerised acrylic resin base (20x20x10mm) were divided into three treatment groups two control groups. Pictures all specimens taken before after induction brushing. All immersed in a tea solution made from 2 grams 100ml 100°C boiled water induce stain. The immersion process was repeated every 24 hours seven days. then brushed using an automatic toothbrushing machine 70 seconds each surface, 200 loads, five speeds/second. Toothpaste used brushing different agent (treatment groups), no toothpaste, commercial whitening (control groups). Colour index analysis specimen pictures computerised by CIELAB method. data analysed one-way ANOVA (α=0.05). Results: Green positive had higher L-values than essential specimens. There significant difference between negative (p<0.05), while found when compared (p>0.05). Conclusion: effective because abrasive materials that work together with epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) eugenol naringin peel.
